The effects of Banhabokryungtang on hyperemesis gravidarum

Abstract
|
|
|
The present study was carried out to find the effects Banhabokryung-tang on hyperemesis gravidarum. the experimental model of hyperemesis gravidarum was induced by T₃-injection after pregnancy. These rats were treated with 1㎖/100g of Banhaboryungtang liquid extract for 6days. Then, the levels of serum T₃, T₄, β-hCG, gastrin, GOT, GPT, potassium, sodium were measured at the six day.
The obtained results are summarized as follows.
1. The level serum T₃, was increased significantly in the control Ⅱ group compared with that of controlⅠ group and, in the sample group it showed a significant decrease compared with that of controlⅡ group.
2. The level of serum T₄ was decreased significantly in the controlⅡgroup compared with that of controlⅠ group, and in the sample group it showed a tendency to increase compared with that of the controlⅡ group.
3. The level of serum β-hCG showed a tendency to increase in the controlⅠⅡ groups compared with that of the normal group, and in the sample group it showed a tendency to increase compared with that of the controlⅠⅡ group so came to the the normal range.
4. The level of serum gastrin was increased significantly in the control Ⅰ group compared with that of normal group, and in the sample group it showed a significant decrease compared with that of the controlⅡ group.
5. The level of serum GOT showed a tendency to increase in the controlⅡ and sample group compared with that of the normal and controlⅡ group.
6. The level of serum GOT showed a tendency to increase in the controlⅡ and sample group compared with that of the normal and controlⅠ group.
7. The level of serum sodium showed a tendency to decrease in the controlⅡ group compared with that of the controlⅠ group and it showed a tendency to increase in the sample group compared with that of the controlⅡ group.
8. The level of serum potassium showed a tendency to increase in the controlⅠ group compared with that of the normal group and, in the controlⅡ group it showed a tendency increase compared with the controlⅠ group, so did sample group compared with that of the controlⅡ group and came to the normal range.
Accrding to the previous results, Banhabokryungtang has an efficiency on decreased Na’, K’ and on increased gastrin which was induced by T₃-injection after pregnancy in rats.
So, it is considered that Banhaboryungtang can be applied effectively to the theraphy of hyperemesis gravidarum.
